Mikel Crespo, new coach of VCF Femenino
The Basque coach brings experience in women's football in Spain, having guided Deportivo Alavés to promotion to the top tier during the 2020-21 season
Valencia CF Femenino midfielder, Sandra Hernández sent out a positive message to the fanbase on VCF Media ahead of the start of La Primera Iberdrola 2020-21 campaign which is fast approaching.
“These months have been quite long so you can imagine how much we’re looking forward to starting and seeing everything under way. The matchday routines, the nerves, these are sensations that I needed back, that we missed. Ultimately, you’re in preseason, training and gearing up for a competition and feeling like a footballer again is wonderful.
We’ve put in a lot of tactical work in training and we’re getting in sync really well and we can take forward a great project. The team are heading in the right direction there are great players in the squad.
Now we are up against Levante UD at home who are a great opposition. Whether it's a preseason friendly, a league fixture, or a school kickabout, It’s a derby after all; which is always motivating and we always live it to the maximum.
It has been a rather unusual pre-season, we aren’t used to it being this long.
We‘re ready to face Huelva away from home in the best possible conditions and I’m sure we’re going to take it forward with commitment and desire at a tough ground against a tough opposition at home but we’ll go there looking to come away with all three points.
The allure of excitement is the building block of this project”.
